Duct Leakage Rectification

The U.S. Department of Energy reports that a typical Building may lose from 25 to 40% of its conditioned air due to leaky ducts. As a result, your AC unit works harder and longer, consumes much more energy, and wears out sooner.

Aeroseal Duct Sealing is a patented breakthrough technology that tackles leaks from the inside out. Its software allows our certified technicians to accurately measure duct leakage in residential homes and commercial buildings. The Aeroseal process puts escaping air under pressure and causes polymer particles to stick to the edges of a leak, then to each other until the leak is closed.

Benefits of this operation include the elimination of hot & cold spots, thus improving indoor comfort and cutting costs by enhancing system efficiency. It also leads to the reduction of ductwork contamination by sealing out debris.

Sealing and insulating ducts can help with common comfort problems and odor controls. Finally, it helps eliminate airborne transmitted diseases in central ventilated areas within healthcare.

Air leakage, or infiltration, occurs when outside air enters a house uncontrollably through cracks, gaps, and openings. Spaces with higher air leakage are significantly less energy efficient than well-sealed spaces. They also require larger HVAC systems to keep the space comfortable. These larger systems must run more frequently to keep up with the temperature changes as the outside air leaks into the space/zone. Airtightness issue goes beyond how well a building’s HVAC system performs. Uncontrolled air leakage can also provide a vehicle for unwanted moisture to enter a building, which can become the reason for a building to fail, leading to costly building repairs. Because moisture is transferred predominantly by air currents — accounting for up to 98% of all water vapor movement in buildings — air sealing your building is essential. Leaky spaces also allow dust, allergens, pollutants and other airborne particulates to enter the space, leading to poor indoor air quality.

Reducing the amount of air that leaks in and out of your controlled space is a cost-effective way to cut heating and cooling costs, improve durability, increase overall comfort, and create a healthier indoor environment.

We connect our patented technology to your space via a modified blower to pressurize and distribute the sealing formula. The pressure carries our non-toxic, water-based formula throughout the home and effect- tively seals any leak by using the very air that is leaking out of the home, thereby finding any leak point; visible or not.
